Definition: A member of the National Association of REALTORS® entitled to use its protected membership designation. Members can include sales associates, brokers, and other eligible real estate professionals.
Example
A Florida sales associate who is a qualifying NAR member uses REALTOR® to identify that membership.
Keep the distinction clear
Not every licensed real estate professional is a REALTOR®, and the term does not mean only broker. Licensing and association membership are separate.
