TSRE's full, current policies are at tsre.us/policies. Read them before enrolling or requesting a transfer, retake, price adjustment, or refund. The website is the maintained source for the complete terms, fees, and deadlines.
Attendance and course completion
Attend all scheduled instruction. Tell your instructor and the office promptly if you miss time. Late arrivals and early departures count as missed instruction. Complete any required, documented makeup before taking the end-of-course exam.
- Classroom pre-licensing: No more than eight classroom hours of instruction may be missed. A classroom hour is 50 minutes. Breaks and meals do not count as instruction. See Rule 61J2-3.008.
- Classroom post-licensing: No more than 10% of instruction may be missed. See Rule 61J2-3.020.
- Classroom continuing education: Attend at least 90% of each approved classroom hour. See Rule 61J2-3.009.
Shorter breaks do not reduce the required instruction. Distance-learning courses follow their approved completion and examination requirements. Contact the office if missed instruction requires a later class or retake.
Certificates and deadlines
Sales associate and broker pre-licensing certificates are valid for state-exam purposes for two years after successful completion. An expired certificate requires repeating the applicable pre-licensing course before taking the state exam. Post-licensing and CE must meet the applicable renewal deadline. Keep completion certificates for at least five years, including after you become licensed. Electronic certificates and replacements are free. See Rule 61J2-3.008 and Rule 61J2-3.015.
Your TSRE registration/access expiration, certificate validity, and DBPR renewal deadline are separate. A payment hold or retake does not automatically extend any of them.
Payment holds and records
A chargeback or disputed payment places course access and TSRE validation of the related course completion and certificate on payment hold until the payment issue is resolved. TSRE keeps the records. The hold does not erase attendance, course progress history, exam results, completion dates, certificates, or required reporting history. It does not change a DBPR license status or extend course, exam, certificate, or renewal deadlines. Contact the office to resolve the payment issue and confirm release of the hold. A $47 reactivation fee applies when restoring access after the payment issue is resolved.
Academic integrity, refunds, and retakes
Complete your own work and follow your course's identity and examination rules. Under TSRE policy, cheating, unauthorized exam materials, plagiarism, or another person completing your coursework results in course failure and dismissal without a refund. We document academic actions in the student record.
TSRE does not guarantee a passing exam result. Refund eligibility follows the published TSRE refund terms; exam failure alone does not create an additional refund entitlement. See section 475.451(3), Florida Statutes, and Rule 61J2-17.013 for the restrictions on passing guarantees.
TSRE offers a retake guarantee until the course registration expires. Waiting periods, attempt limits, and full-course retake requirements depend on the course and delivery format. Eligible retakes completed before expiration carry no additional retake fee. Use the End of Course Exam guide and contact the office to arrange the next eligible exam or class.
Online access and equipment
Students do not need a webcam or microphone. Use a compatible device, reliable internet, and speakers or headphones for lessons with sound. Choose the guide for your platform:
- TSRE Learn: Browser and System Requirements
- LEAPOnline: Browser and System Requirements
- TSRE App: downloads, sign-in, and device requirements
For account integrity, TSRE allows one active device session. Close the app or website on your previous device before switching. See the sign-in guide.
State exam and DBPR reporting
DBPR application approval authorizes state-exam scheduling. You may book before completing pre-licensing, but must have valid completion or accepted exemption documents when you take the exam. There is no blanket 48-hour wait after TSRE completion before scheduling. See State Exam and DBPR completion reporting.
