Definition: To lose operative effect after a change specified by law until the licensing records are properly updated. Florida applies this concept to certain business-address and employer changes.
Example
A sales associate changes employing brokers and must properly register the new employment before practicing under it.
Keep the distinction clear
This is not automatically a disciplinary suspension. Section 475.23 requires notice of the specified change within 10 days; that is not permission to practice under an unregistered employer meanwhile.
