Community Development District (CDD)

Definition: A Florida special-purpose local government established under Chapter 190 to provide authorized community infrastructure and services.

Example

A CDD finances and maintains community infrastructure, with authorized assessments affecting properties in the district.

Keep the distinction clear

A CDD is not the same as an HOA. CDD assessments and association charges can both apply to the same property and should be evaluated separately.
