Definition: A development arrangement placing a building wall on or very near a lot boundary rather than providing a conventional side-yard setback on that side.
Example
A permitted housing design places one exterior wall at the lot line and preserves a larger yard on the other side.
Keep the distinction clear
Zero-lot-line construction is not universally prohibited. Zoning, building requirements, recorded rights, and maintenance access determine whether a particular arrangement is allowed.
