Definition: A broker's honest uncertainty about which party is entitled to escrowed money or property.
Example
A broker cannot determine who is entitled to a deposit under the contract and follows the applicable escrow-dispute procedure.
Keep the distinction clear
Good-faith doubt can exist without both parties making conflicting demands. It does not authorize the broker to keep the money or ignore required procedures.
