Definition: The portion of brokerage commission revenue retained by the company after the applicable sales-associate compensation or split, before the company's remaining operating expenses.
Example
A brokerage receives $10,000 and pays an associate $6,000; the company dollar is $4,000 before other expenses.
Keep the distinction clear
Company dollar is not net profit. Rent, staff pay, advertising, insurance, and other operating costs still must be accounted for.
