A LIVE Online, or livestream, course is a scheduled instructor-led class that you attend online in real time. You see and hear the instructor, follow the same published class schedule, ask questions, and participate with classmates from home or another suitable location.
It combines the structure and instructor access of a live class with the convenience of attending online. It is not a self-paced course and it is not a library of recorded lessons.
How LIVE Online works
- Class meets on specific dates and times shown on the course schedule.
- The instructor teaches in real time through TSRE's browser-based virtual classroom.
- Students can ask questions and take part in class discussions and activities.
- Attendance and participation are recorded according to the requirements for the course.
- Class recordings are not a substitute for attending the scheduled sessions.
Check the time zone, every meeting date, and every no-class date before registering.
Device and internet requirements
You may attend from a computer, tablet, or compatible phone. A computer or tablet generally provides the best view of slides, documents, chat, and course activities.
Before the first session, have:
- a reliable high-speed internet connection;
- a current web browser;
- working speakers or headphones;
- a working microphone; and
- a camera available if the course instructions require visual identity or participation checks.
The virtual classroom normally runs in a browser, so a special meeting application is not usually required. Follow the link and device instructions sent for your specific class because the platform or access process can change.
Join early enough to test the link, sound, microphone, and display. Choose a quiet location where you can remain attentive for the scheduled instructional time.
Attendance and participation
LIVE Online is still a live course. Students are expected to:
- join on time and remain for the full scheduled session;
- use their own registration and access link;
- respond to attendance or participation checks;
- complete required class activities; and
- follow the instructor's directions for breaks, missed time, and technology problems.
Simply opening the class link does not automatically establish attendance. If you lose access, contact the instructor and TSRE promptly rather than waiting until the end of class.
Course materials
Your course listing and confirmation explain which materials are included and how you receive them. Depending on the course, materials may include:
- access through the TSRE Learn portal or TSRE App;
- digital slides, worksheets, or study tools;
- a printed textbook or workbook; or
- materials shipped to you or made available for pickup.
Open the course portal and confirm any required printed materials before the first class. If materials are shipped, use the order-status page in your confirmation to check tracking.
End-of-course exam
The final-exam process and deadline depend on the course. Your instructor and course instructions will explain when the exam becomes available, where to take it, and the deadline for completion.
Do not assume that missing a live session can be replaced by a recording or that opening the final exam automatically resolves missed instructional time. Contact TSRE promptly if attendance, access, or an emergency may affect your eligibility.
