If DBPR says your fingerprints are missing, locate your fingerprint receipt and Transaction Control Number (TCN), then check the submission with the provider that took your prints. A campus appointment, payment receipt, and completed license application are separate records.
Find your receipt and TCN
The TCN identifies your fingerprint transaction. It is different from the ORI, which identifies the profession and receiving agency. For Florida real estate sales associate and broker applications, the ORI is FL920010Z.
- Check the receipt and email from your fingerprint appointment, including spam or junk folders.
- If the TCN or receipt is missing, ask the provider that performed the appointment to help locate the transaction. Have your name, appointment date, location, and booking or payment reference ready.
- All fingerprint appointments at TSRE campuses are performed by Fingerprints by Live Scan. Contact that provider directly for a missing receipt, TCN, or submission follow-up.
Check the fingerprint transaction
Use the FDLE TCN status search linked by DBPR. Enter your TCN and follow the page's instructions. Keep a note of the status and date shown.
A fingerprint transaction status is not confirmation that your real estate license application has been approved. Ask DBPR about the application record if your provider confirms submission but DBPR still lists the fingerprints as missing.
DBPR sent a missing-fingerprints notice
- Read the notice and note its date and any response deadline.
- Contact the provider that took your prints. Ask it to confirm whether the transaction was submitted to FDLE, the submission date, and the ORI used.
- Keep the TCN and the provider's confirmation. If the issue remains, use the DBPR contact guide to follow up on your application.
DBPR's fingerprinting FAQ says results usually reach the department within three to five business days after the scan. If you receive a deficiency notice, follow up with the provider; do not assume paying for another appointment is the next step.
Contact your fingerprint provider
For a TSRE campus appointment or another appointment with Fingerprints by Live Scan, use its official contact page or call (813) 400-2867. If another provider performed your appointment, contact that provider.
The notice says my fingerprints were rejected or illegible
Follow the notice and contact the same provider to arrange the required repeat scan. Bring the notice: DBPR says its TCN and TCR information must be used for the repeat submission. Ask the provider to confirm the appointment requirements and any applicable charge.
Details that help resolve the issue
Have the appointment date and location, provider name, receipt or TCN if available, DBPR application reference, and the notice's exact message ready. Do not send your Social Security number, ID images, or criminal-history documents in an ordinary TSRE support request. Follow the provider's or DBPR's secure instructions if identity verification is needed.
For the initial application order, ORI, and out-of-state options, see Fingerprinting. For help locating the right contact, submit a TSRE support request.
